April 30 - Lambs Canyon Road

Another sunny day near 70 degrees. And another trip to Lambs Canyon. Yes, it's repetitive but I don't have many options with the virus causing trails to be overcrowded.

I arrive around 3:30, a little later than normal, and start up the road.

There's more Forget-me-knots in bloom and the Biscquitroot is close. The Oregongrape is starting to bloom.

And this flower.

The road is totally open now.

The black moths with white spots are still numerous. And there are tons of those orange moths flying.

Along the way to the trail head, I find Mourning Cloaks, a Painted Lady, and several Orangetips (all males).

I'm almost to the trail head scanning the flowing water (and mud) alongside the road when I find my first Blue of the trip. It's a Spring Azure!

And at the trail head, I find two more. The Spring flyers are out!

Just as I'm ready to start back, I see a Comma flying above. He's flying a fair bit but staying high so I can't ID him.

Good day!
